CENTRAL HEATING SYSTEM

Central Heating is the even distribution of heat to every room in your home from a central point or heat source.

The warm water distributes heat evenly and thoroughly too every area of your home via a network of pipes. The pipe network can
be connected to radiators in each room or can be looped under the floor for under floor heating, both systems releasing a gentle
heat into your home.
Radiators: Usually require high temperatures that can only currently be achieved with combusting boilers.
Under Floor Heating: Uses lower temperature water and can be heated by any heat source.
PLEASE NOTE: Solar is generally only considered for heating a domestic hot water cylinder. Heating your house with solar is
possible however it requires extensive set-up costs.
Heat Sources are many and varied including Wood Boiler, Wood Pellet Boiler, Gas Boiler, Diesel Boiler, and Air to water heat
pump, geothermal heat pump.

KEY FEATURES

§ The boiler pumps heated water through the under floor pipes or into the radiators, which then release their heat gently into the
home.
§ Because there is no forced air movement, there are no draughts, hot and cold spots or noisy fans to contend with. The heat is
passive and unobtrusive. It warms objects and fabric within the room.
§ The process is superbly efficient. No water is actually consumed, and once the water is up to temperature the boiler modulates
or switches off - while heat continues to be emitted from the pipes or radiators.
§ In Kashmir, gas and diesel-fired boilers are most common. Most models can also produce hot water for domestic tap use.
Some will even heat a spa or swimming pool as well as supplying the central heating and domestic hot water. (See All You Need
To Know About Boilers)
§ All systems are fitted with a thermostat and time controller, allowing warmth to be delivered only when it is needed. In addition,
individual radiators are fitted with thermostats, allowing precise control over the heating supplied to different parts of the house.
The more sophisticated under floor systems can also be programmed to control the duration and level of heat supplied to
individual rooms or zones. (See Controlling the heat)
§ A central heating system utilizing under floor pipes to deliver heat can only be installed in a new home or renovation, before the
floor slab is laid. A system utilizing wall-mounted radiators can be installed in new or existing homes.

Why Central Heating

Efficient and effective
Although our climate is quite temperate in Kashmir, our homes are some of the coldest in the world through lack of insulation
and an efficient heating system, leading to uneven temperatures and unhealthy living conditions.
Warm water central heating is highly efficient and easy to control making it economical to run while being environmentally
friendly. This has made it the preferred method of heating for almost half a century in the temperate climates of Europe, North
America and parts of Asia, in fact throughout two thirds of the world, although it can be traced back to Roman times.
Traditionally Kiwi’s have heated their homes with a single log burning fire, which delivers excess heat to the living areas and
leaves the bedroom areas well below the 16º C that the World Health Organization recommends for healthy living. This is not a
healthy or effective heating solution. By installing a warm water central heating system, which heats your home to the WHO
living room standard of 21ºC you will be able to enjoy every area of your home at any time of year, you may also find that colds,
flu and the effects of ailments like arthritis are reduced because of the healthier environment.
The systems are sealed making them clean and dust free increasing the health benefits for asthma sufferers and they meet the
strict guidelines of the European emission laws.
So why use Warm Water Central Heating?
It is more efficient and cost effective to heat the whole house with radiant heat than heat one room with draughty air.
Water transfers energy at a much higher rate than air.
By international standards KASHMIRI homes are extremely cold inside. Our changeable climate requires efficient, economical
and controllable heating systems.
guidelines The systems are eco-friendly. Diesel is clean burning, gas has clean emissions and wood pellets are a renewable
source making them carbon neutral. They exceed all Kashmir Clean Air.
A warm home is a healthy home. Your family will thank you for a warm dry home
